Works in Progress

I can't believe all the projects I have going on right now. Since I took this picture last week, I have finished the "Sunflower" sampler afghan, the gold, green, brown and cream object. I also finished the red-and-gray hat and scarf in the foreground and gave it to Jim for his birthday, which we celebrated last Sunday Aug. 25. I have a whole bag of the red and gray yarns now. So I'm making them for the charity group. The orange and black hat is also finished, but the turquoise and red objects are still pending.

Another Girl's Cardigan

Before I finished the turquoise cover-up for Abby, I found another pattern for a cute girl's cardigan I just had to try. The pattern calls for Paton's Classic Wool DK Superwash, which is a wool. I decided to substitute an acrylic yarn in the light weight. It is a much better pattern. I have all the parts done now, but am procrastinating putting on the buttons and sewing in the sleeves. Once again I've been distracted by other things. :-)  By the way, this yarn is a much prettier red color than what shows here. It is not as orange, but more a cherry red. The pattern is titled "Girl's Playground Cardigan To Crochet."

Purple Is For Allison

Here is Allison modeling the purple "cover-up" I made for her using a free pattern from Caron. It is a very simple pattern, but I had trouble following the instructions. I did e-mail back and forth with Caron a couple of times. They e-mailed me an edited version which I found a little better, but I still ended up just looking at the picture and diagram and just doing it. Allison looks cute, doesn't she.

I have a turquoise one almost done for Abby, but I'm having to do some of it over and I have put it aside for a while.

The purple yarn is Caron Simply Soft. The Turquoise is a Red Heart product.
